Wine enthusiast? Passionate Consumer? Start Blogging!
If you are a passionate consumer with an enthusiasm for Washington or Oregon wine, then there is no better time to start blogging than right now.
Why now?
First, we need more consumers blogging about Pacific Northwest wine, sharing their experiences while generating needed exposure for our region's bounty. There will always be room for one more voice that can offer an additional perspective on all things associated with Oregon and Washington wine.
Second, there is no better opportunity to learn more about wine blogging than at this year's Wine Bloggers Conference in Walla Walla during the weekend of June 25 - 27. This is going to be a worthwhile event, with seminars specifically designed for novice bloggers. A special shout out to my fellow blogger, Catie of Through the Walla Walla Grapevine, for her tireless efforts convincing the organizers of the WBC to hold their 3rd annual event in Walla Walla.
Finally, your efforts blogging about our state's wine industry may very well pay off in the form of free trip from Seattle to Walla Walla in the days leading up to the Wine Bloggers Conference. The WBC-or-Bust contest, organized by Marcus Pape of WineCHATr.com, will provide 12 citizen wine bloggers with a free, 2 day bus journey through Washington wine country. Please visit WineCHATr.com to enter.
I look forward to the prospect of following your wine blog, judging your posts in the WBC-or-Bust contest, and most importantly, meeting you at the WBC in Walla Walla this summer.
Let your consumer voice be heard - join us online now and in Walla Walla this June!

Very exciting news! I agree that we need more bloggers chatting it up about wines in the NW. I was recently surprised at how few there were, and started up one myself: www.dibariwines.com. I'm trying to stick to mostly NW wines, but I dabble in other subjects as well. While I wish I had more time to devote to it, I'll do my best. Hopefully, I'll see you all in Walla Walla this June!

This is an excellent time to start / learn / jump in about blogging. With the WBC in our back yard the opportunity for information and face to face networking is huge! Also, like Thad said, more bloggers = greater awareness of Northwest Wine (the best in the world).

Very nice blog on encouraging folks to become consumer bloggers. It's interesting to me as I get deeper into this how much the industry seems to be paying attention to the blogging community. One example I know of recently is a new winery on Red Mountain, Cooper. He has reached out to several Washington bloggers and I actually think he's using this as part of his marketing strategy. More power to him.
I first started my blog after reading winechatr and hearing about the WBC in Walla Walla. One thing I learned in the fine print is that Washington residents aren't eligible for the trip from Seattle to Walla Walla. But since I'm already closer to WW anyway this saves me some road time :)
