Twelve 2007 Pinot Noir 144 Yamhill-Carlton District

Wow, what a terrific Oregon pinot noir the Twelve 144 was.
The Twelve 2007 Pinot Noir 144 Yamhill-Carlton District (13.5%) was a deep garnet red in the glass, offering bright, perfumed red berry fruit notes, which were repeated in strawberry and raspberry flavors balanced with good acidity. The predominantly cherry finish was long, yet evolved into other more complex flavors with each sip.
We drank the Twelve pinot noir over two nights, the first with a dinner of roasted chicken thighs with garbanzo beans, cherry tomatoes, and smoked paprika and then the second with grilled wild King salmon, heirloom tomatoes and a black-eyed pea salad. On both occasions, the Twelve 2007 Pinot Noir 144 served as a wonderful complement to our meals.
For $25, this is a good Oregon pinot noir, one that I plan to stock up on soon. I am also a fan of Twelve's 2007 Pinot Blanc, which I had a glass of recently at Purple Cafe & Wine Bar. Got to get some of that juice too, while continuing to keep an eye out for more wines from Twelve in the months ahead.
