J. Albin 2007 Pinot Gris Willamette Valley

j-albin-pinot-gris-2007.jpg

At $15, the J. Albin 2007 Pinot Gris Willamette Valley (13.5%) is a wine worth serving often.

In the glass, this Oregon pinot gris is a clear, steely yellow color delivering floral citrus and tropical fruit to the nose. In the mouth, it's a refreshingly clean and crisp fruit-forward wine, without the cloying viscosity that comes with some Pac NW pinot gris.

We enjoyed a glass of the J. Albin pinot gris as an apertif while cooking dinner over several nights. Considering it's price point and overall quality, this is one to have on hand whenever a crisp, refreshing pinot gris is called for before, during or after dinner.
