Cameron 2007 Pinot Noir Dundee Hills

cameron-pinot-noir-dundee-2007.jpg

In the glass, the Cameron 2007 Pinot Noir Dundee Hills (12.5%) is a clear, garnet red offering notes of bright strawberry and raspberry fruit followed by hints of earth. These red fruit flavors continued in the mouth, with a predominant cherry signature adding to the mix. Balanced acidity and a long tasty finish made the Cameron pinot a delightful wine to drink with our dinner.

We paired the Cameron with grilled King salmon, a caprese salad, and a fresh loaf of olive and rosemary bread. This wine showed well on the first night, and was even better a day later, when we enjoyed a couple more glasses with a chicken chili verde dish and red cabbage slaw salad.

I am going to have to pick up more of this $25 wine, for it is at the top of my list of favorites thus far from the fantastic 2007 vintage of Oregon pinot noir. This is one to stock up on with a few bottles, if not half a case full.

We love this wine, which certainly challenges Matt Kramer's contention that 2007 OR pinots aren't worth buying.
