Round 3: Oregon 2007 Pinot Noir Tastings

If you've been a regular visitor to this blog these last seven months, then you've witnessed firsthand how smitten I am with 2007 Oregon pinot noirs.
It all started in January with my "Round 1" tastings of a dozen and half newly released 2007 pinots and continued in March with another two dozen wines in "Round 2".
After stocking up in Portland last weekend, it is now time for "Round 3", a line up that includes fifteen new Oregon 2007 pinot noirs:
Antica Terra 2007 Pinot Noir Willamette Valley (13.5%) - $45
Beacon Hill 2007 Pinot Noir Chehalem Mountains Willamette Valley (13%) - $19
Belle Pente 2007 Pinot Noir Willamette Valley (12.5%) - $18
Belle Pente 2007 Oregon Pinot Noir Dundee Hills (12.9%) - $22
Cameron 2007 Pinot Noir Dundee Hills (12.5%) - $25
Crowley 2007 Pinot Noir Willamette Valley (13%) - $25
Harmonia 2007 Pinot Noir Oregon (13.5%) - $20
Lemelson Six Vineyard 2007 Pinot Noir Willamette Valley (13.5%) - $25
Love & Squalor 2007 Pinot Noir Willamette Valley (13.2%) - $23
Matello 2007 Pinot Noir Willamette Valley (13.3%) - $20
Phelps Creek 2007 "Le Petit" Pinot Noir Columbia Gorge (13.5%) - $17
Soter North Valley 2007 Pinot Noir (13.6%) - $30
St. Innocent 2007 Villages Cuvee Pinot Noir (13.5%) - $19
Twelve 2007 Pinot Noir Yamhill-Carlton District (13.5%) - $25
Walter Scott 2007 Pinot Noir Eola Amity Hills (13%) - $25
Each of these will be paired with an upcoming dinner, whereupon an assessment will be made as to whether or not the wine is one to stock up on, have again soon, or pass altogether. All wines here and in other rounds were purchased at retail at my own expense. No winery samples, no winemaker suggestions, no influence.
Stay tuned, as I have already started breaking into this line up...reviews coming soon.

That is quite the assortment you have going! I can't wait to read the results. In the meantime, I will be placing bets on which ones I think will come out winners!

Thanks for the update on the 07 Pinot's. Haven't tried any from Oregon yet, but they seem to be quite good from the California central coast as well.
Did any winery seem to make a big step forward compared to previous vintages?

Wine Club Guy, there are several producers whose 2007s I enjoyed much more than previous vintages. Brooks, Lange, and WillaKenzie come to mind along these lines.
Christine, please share your thoughts on any of these and others previously covered. The more folks share their experiences, the better for all readers.
