Patricia Green 2007 Pinot Noir Reserve

In the glass, this Oregon pinot noir from 2007 was a medium translucent red offering hints of earth, especially that of pronounced forest floor leading to sour cherry and strawberry fruit notes. In the mouth, the Patricia Green reserve was fruit forward with a bit of candied cherry dropping off quickly to a short finish.
The Patricia Green Cellars 2007 Pinot Noir Reserve Willamette Valley (13%) was a decent wine, but at $26 I found this to be a bit disappointing in terms of value. It began with much promise considering its earthy tones, but the fruit seemed to come in strong but quickly depart, leaving my palate yearning for something more, something lasting.
We paired this wine with grilled pork chops seasoned with Kosher salt and ground pepper accompanied by sauteed shallots, apples, dried cranberries in butter along with a green leaf lettuce salad with Briton ham and mozzarella cheese. After drinking this wine with this meal, I don't think I would buy another bottle.
