Chateau Bianca 2007 Pinot Noir

This wine offers a very good representation of Oregon pinot noir at a low price of $16.
In the glass, the Chateau Bianca 2007 Pinot Noir Willamette Valley (12.5%) was a very light ruby red. It smelled of dusty eucalyptus, earth, and strawberry fruit. Flavors of strawberry and raspberry fruit, albeit slightly sweet, but balanced with bright acidity making this a delicious food friendly wine.
The Chateau Bianca pinot was paired with an Italian dish comprised of an Italian sausage (sans casing) tomato sauce cooked and reduced on the stove top and then served over a bowl of soft polenta with a side salad of green leaf lettuce and roasted prosciutto dressed in a light olive oil and vinegar sauce.
This 2007 Oregon pinot noir could very well be our go to table wine in the coming months, being a well made wine offered at an affordable price point.

I was recently given a bottle by a vendor. I normally judge such gifts with caution (suspicion).
I was AMAZED. This is a smooth and musky red that I will definitely add to my cellar. I will also have to reconsider this vendor, as anyone with such excellent taste in wine is truly a person of high caliber and would only be associated with the finest of products!

I LOVED this wine!
Very well balanced, a 'background' wine to complement a nice dinner - rather than having the wine jump out at you and overwhellm the food.
Had it with smoked turkey, greens, and baked squash. Excellent wine to pair with such a meal.
