Biggio Hamina 2007 Pinot Blanc

This delicious Oregon pinot blanc was a light yellow straw color in the glass, offering scents of pineapple and melon with a light, crisp taste that showed mostly mineral flavors with modest tropical fruit. The Biggio Hamina had moderate acidity throughout ending in a clean finish.
The Biggio Hamina 2007 Pinot Blanc Yamhill Valley Vineyard McMinnville (13.5%) was paired with chicken teriyaki (thigh meat only) on a bed of steamed rice accompanied by stir-fried red peppers and sugar snap peas garnished with toasted sesame seeds.
I enjoyed this food friendly wine, especially the mineral characteristics combined with modest fruit, and would recommend it to any pinot blanc fan or anyone seeking a new white wine to try. Having purchased two bottles ($17 each) and now seeing it is sold out at the winery, I am glad to have a bottle to enjoy later this year.

Hi Thad
I've really enjoyed reading your tasting notes. I'm headed through Walla Walla in two weeks on my way home to Portland so your winery recos have been great too. Let me know if you want me to pick you up a bottle of anything on my way though the Columbia valley. I don't know where you're located but I'll be making a pit-stop in Tacoma too.
