WIDWD: Six Vineyards 2005 Pinot Noir

What I Drank With Dinner (WIDWD)

This Oregon pinot noir is crafted by Lemelson Vineyards based in Carlton. Other than the suggestive brand, "Six Vineyards", and the note on the producer, no other details are provided as to what went into this wine. In fact, I checked the Lemelson web site and nothing is available on this or previous vintages. What gives?!?!

Regardless, one thing is clear, this is a wine that was surprisingly good relative to its price point of $21.99. Kari and I really enjoyed the Six Vineyards Pinot Noir (13.5%) with our grilled Jamaican jerk chicken thighs, orzo, fresh cherry tomato salad, and grilled bread. It had nice raspberry/cherry fruit, good acidity, and a bit of spice that went very well with our meal.

I seem to recall having this wine a about six months ago, but wasn't that impressed. Time seems to have helped this pinot. As a result, I am definitely going to buy more of the Lemelson Six Vineyards 2005 Pinot Noir on my next shopping trip, as this wine offers an affordable choice on nights when you want a good pinot but don't feel like opening something expensive.
