Vino Volo: Flights and Connections

Last August, I blogged about my experience at Vino Volo, a new wine bar located at Sea-Tac Airport.
As a result of this review, I was interviewed a few weeks ago by a travel writer, Susan Catto, who was working on a New York Times article about fine dining in airports. The article, And Now, Foie Gras for People on the Go, appeared in today's edition as part of a special section on business travel with a feature on Vino Volo.
After chatting with Susan, I started thinking more about how air travel today remains a study in contrasts. We can move at hundreds of miles per hour, compressing what was once travel days into hours, yet we end up spending so much time waiting at airports to get to where we are going. With all of the downtime, Vino Volo is truly an oasis offering a place where you can enjoy good wine and food while connecting to people and places around us.
You owe it to yourself to seek out Vino Volo on your next trip thru Sea-Tac or any other airport they are located. With a glass or flight of wine, Vino Volo is a great place to celebrate the good things that come to those who wait. And considering Vino Volo's emphasis on the people and places behind the wines they serve, it provides a wonderful way to connect to the larger world around us.
