What I Drank With Dinner (WIDWD)
Every night, my wife crafts a wonderful dinner while I do my best to choose a wine to complement it. It's a role I clearly relish, for there is nothing that makes a meal more enjoyable than matching her cooking with the right bottle of wine.
Fortunately for us, we live in a region where grapes are abundant and wine is plentiful, thus making us a bit spoiled in terms of readily pairing our meals with a wine from Washington or Oregon. Even still, there are times when our dinner calls for a wine from outside our region, therefore we might celebrate a meal with something from people and places far away. Regardless, the dinner is never complete without a bottle open and glasses full to complement the food on our table.
With this in mind, I thought it might be fun to start sharing what local wines I drank at dinner the night before. As you'll soon discover, most of the wine consumed at our table is from Washington and Oregon. I am not going to attempt to draft tasting notes, rather just share what was paired with our meal and how it was experienced. I'll throw in a bit of context to help connect you to the who, what and where of the wine we drank, in keeping with the theme of this blog.
So, starting tomorrow, you can expect a post (WIDWD) on what my wife and I drank at dinner tonight. And as always, I welcome your comments on the Washington and Oregon wines experienced at my table. For if there are stories to share and experiences to impart, then your commentary is always welcome. Cheers!

These are fun and very interesting but we definitely need to have your wife referred to by name!

I appreciate you pointing this out! I have clearly been remiss in not referring to my wife, Kari, directly by her name. I will correct the record going forward! :-)
