Andy Perdue's Video Quest

The other day while searching on the term "northwest wine" in the podcast section of the iTunes online store, I was pleasantly surprised to find a collection of wine videos produced by Andy Perdue of Wine Press Northwest.

Andy is editor-in-chief of Wine Press Northwest and has been a fixture in the Pacific Northwest wine industry since the quarterly magazine's launch in 1998. He also writes a blog called The Wine Knows, which appears to be a more personal extension of his work at the magazine.

Here's what I like about Andy's videos: they easily connect you to the people, places and events supporting wine in our region. As far as I am aware, no one else is doing what Andy has done documenting wineries, winemakers, vineyards and events associated with Pacific Northwest wine.

Like video blogging (vlogs) in general, capturing wine experiences with video and then sharing them online is the latest trend. It's an exciting one to follow, with videos ranging from the basic tasting features to impressive film productions.

I was especially excited to see Andy bringing local wine stories online in a format that is easy to enjoy. I have tried listening to podcasts, but I would much rather watch a video. Andy's short features provide an interesting glimpse into what's going on at some of the leading wineries around the state as well as the up-and-comers.

Hopefully, there is a video story associated with one of your favorite Pacific Northwest wines in Andy's library. If not, then my guess is he will have one soon, as his collection continues to grow each month. Keep up the good work, Andy!
